About this event
Addaction in Weston has issued a reminder about how to drink within safe limits for Alcohol Awareness Week. Healthwatch supports this campaign as a timely reminder before the Christmas festivities begin that drinking too much is linked to many serious health conditions.
But did you know drinking can increase your chances of having depression and anxiety, alcohol-related brain damage, breast cancer and reduce vfertility.
The 2019 alcohol awareness poster lists that risks associated with drinking more than the recommended 14 units a week is also linked to stomach and mouth vcancers. The advice is to try and have a few alcohol free days a week and to keep a diary if you can’t remember how much you have drunk or try the new Try Dry app which will also help you keep track.
