NHS Long Term Plan

We asked the public how they would spend the government's £20 million a year investment into the NHS over the next 10 years to improve services locally #WhatWouldYouDo

Key findings

  • 1  Easier, more timely access to help, treatment and information when they need it. This was particularly pertinent to GP services e.g long waiting times, unhelpful booking systems, and too short appointments to meet patients' needs
  • 2 Respondents told us that they want to be listened to. They don’t want to have to repeat their story multiple times with multiple providers. They would like services to be more joined up.
  • 3 Respondents expressed a strong desire to be involved in making decisions about their care and treatment. They want to be informed about the options that are available to them - including details such as waiting times, risks, benefits etc.

What will happen next?

Feedback from this project has been shared with Healthier Together, the local sustainability and transformation partnership, in order to help them to develop a Five Year System Plan.
