New guide on Bristol Muslims to boost understanding of all cultures

A new guide has been produced by the Bristol Muslim Strategic Leadership Group and the city council to develop and strengthen Muslim communities in Bristol by sharing information and celebrating differences in local culture.
Bristol Muslim Guide

The booklet aims to inform a range of audiences about Islam and Muslims in Bristol and Britain.  It breaks down details derived from the Qur'an and other theological sources, research and analysis, and local information into an easily readable, accessible format. With a forward from Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, the booklet addresses some of the frequently asked questions about Muslims and Islam. There is also a section on the Bristol Somalis working to help people during the Covid-19 lockdown. (picture)

It also usefully includes a Directory of Muslim organisations in Bristol - the first time one has been developed for both Muslims in Bristol and organisations wishing to reach them.

As individuals reach out across their differences, they find both how much they have in common and how rewarding experiencing that difference can be. And in meeting the other we will start to discover the very complex and multi-layered identities that we in a globalised and interconnected world now hold.

Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, British lawyer, politician, comedian and member of the House of Lords
